While some were inclined to compare Durand's new Fall Fest to the Autumn Fest of the past, most understood that this was an all new event, and what it lacked relative to its' predecessor, was probably for the better.
One event-goer was heard saying that this year's fall fest was everything good about Autumn Fest with less walking.
Durand's new Fall Fest, presented by the Durand Fire Department, attracted quite the crowd to the People Spot. Free cider and donuts, pumpkin painting, chalk drawing, police cars, fire trucks, a movie on the big screen and hay rides set under perfect blue skies and crisp Autumn air, made this September Saturday extra special.
Here's to a new fall tradition in the Railroad City. Autumn Fest, a similar September event that at one time stretched from Main Street down Saginaw to Genesee, ended in 2015 after five years, much smaller than when it began.
