"Many a small thing has been made large by the right kind of advertising."  Love that quote from Mark Twain.

Since day one, we've been able to track ad impressions for advertisers.  So, as the person deciding how to invest your marketing budget -- or, as is the case for the majority of small businesses; as the person trying to find some extra funds to market you business, you'll know exactly how many people are seeing your ad.  This is something no other advertising medium can do for you.  Not newspaper, not radio, not TV.  Ahh, the internet.

Recently, a client told us that their business is getting website traffic and online purchases every day, and they wanted to know just how much of that website traffic might be coming from their ad on Durand Now.  So, we began tracking click thrus for them.  What we discovered was exciting.  The click thru rate for this client was significantly higher than the worldwide average, which, to be honest, is very small in comparison to actual website traffic.

Still, it was exciting to see this client getting actual traffic and, presumably, some of their online purchases, as a direct result of their advertising on Durand Now.  But it's very important not to undersell the impact of impressions.  Most consumers aren't ready to use your service the day they see your ad, but don't let that minimize the value of having seen your ad.

Make an impression with Durand Now.

By the way, that client signed on for another year of advertising on Durand Now!

Since January 1st 2019, Google Analytics tells us that there have been more than 47,000 people that have looked at Durand Now at least one time.  That's 47,000 different indviduals.  If you think that's exciting, Google Analytics says thousands of those people keep coming back again and again -- in fact, since January 1st, Durand Now has been viewed more than 135,000 times!

That's your brand and your message being consumed by tens of thousands of people, and for some, it's being consumed over and over again.  It would be really hard to debate the benefit to your business or event.

You want to know how much it's going to cost, right?  The full-color cube ads that you see are $75 (or less) for one month.  That's your business making an impression 24 hours a day 7 days a week on the front page of Durand Now and on every new story page during your campaign.

By the way, those cube ads take up the entire screen on most mobile devices and in case you're wondering, of those 47,000 people that have looked at Durand Now since the beginning of the year, more than 36,000 (77%) were on mobile devices.

Pay for a year of advertising up front and you save $150, which equates to an investment of just $62.50 per month.

Are your full color, full screen ads being shown to thousands and thousands of people all over mid-Michigan?  Are you overpaying to market your business and being underserved?

When you need a lawn tractor... when you need lightning fast internet... when you need insurance... when you need gas and snacks...

It is mind-blowing that nonprofit, church or school events sometimes do not get the benefit of this vast audience and advertising mechanism.  It's not because it's unaffordable, but rather, because we never receive the information so that we can share it.

We gladly support nonprofits, churches and schools by sharing their news and event information for free.  No cost at all.  But you do have to send it to us.  And it doesn't hurt to follow up.

hello@shiawasseenews.com

That's our email address and it's how you get news and event information to us.  Most of the time, posting it to or sharing through social media simply does not work.

One final thought to encourage you to consider marketing with Durand Now: whether you're sending local news to us or making a financial investment in your business by advertising, you're supporting a Durand-based, Durand-focused family-owned business.  You're helping to support our investment in the community, and ultimately, helping to make our community stronger and better.

Thank you to those that support the work of Durand Now by sending news tips and thank you to the businesses that have been our partners throughout the past seven years.
