After Cancelling Train Traffic Earlier This Week Passenger Service Began Moving People Again on Friday

After suspending passenger service on Wednesday and Thursday due to extreme winter weather, Amtrak Midwest announced it would reinstate train traffic in and out of Chicago beginning Friday. Those lines include the Blue Water that runs between Port Huron and Chicago, stopping at Durand Union Station twice daily.

An Amtrak news release said "Extreme weather conditions and an abundance of caution" prompted the cancellations.
Durand Union Station also reopened on Friday after being closed for several days due to inclement weather caused by the polar vortex that impacted much of the United States this week.
