The Byron Branch of the Community District Library will host Story Time with Ms. Quimby on Tuesdays at 3:30pm beginning January 29th and ending on March 19th. Please phone 810-266-4620 ext 1607 to register or for more information.

The branch is located at 312 Maple St. inside the Byron High School. Hours are Monday & Wednesday 11-4 and Tuesday & Thursday 2-7.

The Corunna Branch of the Community District Library has the following free events planned in January. Please preregister as space and supplies are limited.

Beef Stew & Buttermilk Biscuit Demonstration - January 15th at 5:00pm. The Owosso Culinary Club will present the program. Recipes and samples will be provided.

Winter Sowing Techniques Workshop- January 17th at 6:00pm. Master gardener Pam Malaska will lead this hands-on winter sowing class. All supplies will be provided including flower seeds to attract butterflies to your yard.

Coloring & Conversation for Adults - January 21st at 10:30am & January 22nd at 6:00pm. Bring your own supplies or use the pages, pencils and pens provided.

Valentine Card & Craft - January 29th at 6:30pm. Joanne Jeter will lead this Valentine class. Participants will make a card and a sweet treat for someone special. All supplies will be provided.

The library is located at 210 E. Corunna Ave. Please call 989-743-4800 to register.

A single occupant in a vehicle that was struck by an Amtrak train on Thursday night was able to exit the vehicle and walk away. Authorities are saying they believe alcohol played a factor in the crash.
