Beloved Longtime Durand Teacher Passes Away

Longtime Durand schools teacher and the second of three generations of teachers in the district, Ann Zick, passed away on Saturday November 2nd at the age of 67.

Zick was a 1970 Durand grad whose mother and father taught at Durand.  Ann's husband of 48 years, Roger, also taught at Durand and two of their children, Debbie and Cindy, are presently teachers at Robert Kerr Elementary in Durand.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ann will be celebrated today, Wednesday November 6th, beginning at 11am at St. Mary Catholic Church.  Durand schools has called a half day to give teachers and staff wishing to attend the opportunity.  

The district will dismiss on the normal half day schedule: Middle School at 10:55am, High School at 11am, Robert Kerr at 12pm and Bertha Neal 12:10pm.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Zick family.
