22 million views -- and that's just on The Uplift's Facebook share of Swartz Creek Superintendent Ben Mainka and Principal Jim Kitchen's viral "Snow Day" video. The video has been posted and shared in hundreds of places and featured on national news programs after the original video captured more than 700,000 views on YouTube, thrusting the administrators into the spotlight.
But when the pair didn't have a follow up video ready for the next day's extreme winter weather closing, they say some were not happy with them, and the hate mail began to arrive.
So, ahead of the district's fourth closing of the week, the pair have released a follow up video. "This will be the last one," they say.
Mainka and Kitchen's incredible vocal stylings are back on display in a rendition of Idina Menzel's "Let It Go" fom the movie Frozen, which, to be honest, has been done a few times by at least a few administrators. But, the pair manages to work a reference to The Princess Bride into the lyrics, so they still get all the points.
