Through a partnership with the City of Durand DDA, the Durand Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation is launching the first round of emergency small business grants. Applications open April 13th at 8am and will close April 30th at 5pm.

Small businesses located in the City of Durand, or who are members of The Greater Durand Area Chamber of Commerce, can apply to receive up to $1,000 in emergency grant funding. Certain conditions may apply. Small business applicants who apply will be notified on a rolling, as-submitted basis. The fund committee includes a representative of the Durand Chamber of Commerce Foundation, a community representative, a representative from the City of Durand, and one local, non-applicant business representative. The fund committee will be responsible for reviewing requests and distributing the grants to qualifying businesses.

“I am proud that the City's D.D.A. can partner with the Chamber of Commerce Foundation's emergency economic relief fund to provide much needed financial support to businesses that have been negatively impacted or closed due to COVID-19.” Stated Deb Doyle, Mayor City of Durand.

Members of the public are also invited to contribute to the fund in an effort to support as many businesses as possible. Donations can be mailed to COVID-19 Fund, 109 Saginaw Street, Durand, MI 48429 or made online at durandchamber.com.
