Lennon Lions Club 44th Homecoming event kicks off today!  The Lennon Lions Homecoming Parade begins at 11am.  After the parade, Lennon Lions Park is the place to be, where you'll find numerous family activities including face painting, kids games, bouncy balls, a pie eating contest, "Touch a Truck" with emergency vehicles from area agencies and a fire safety presentation by the Venice Township Fire Department, and of course, the antique tractor pull and the kiddie tractor pull.

From noon to 5pm learn about Lions Kid Sight and get a child ID, thanks to North Newburg Road Masonic Lodge, for use in case of emergencies.

Saturday night, come dressed in your favorite era and enjoy music and dance from 9 to midnight.  Get a prize if you're the best dressed!

Sunday is loaded with events and activities too, starting with the volunteer firemen pancake breakfast, a barbecue chicken dinner beginning at noon and a car show.  Trophies will be awarded at 4pm.  And, perhaps, the highlight of the weekend: the annual Cub Cadet giveaway sponsoed by Alderman's Inc., of Lennon.  Get a ticket for just $10!  At 5pm someone will win a Cub Cadet zero turn lawn mower.

All weekend enjoy vendor booths with homemade treats, crafts and more.  Still need to get a space?  Contact Doug Palmer at 989-634-8263.

Last year Durand added a second car show that was such a hit they’re bringing it back this year!  In addition to their traditional “End of Summer Cruisin’” show (always held Labor Day Saturday), they’re inviting classic car owners to cruise downtown and enjoy an evening of live rock and roll performed by Tommy Vale and The Torpedos.  The July 19th car show is free and runs from 5-9pm at East Main and Hagel Streets, right next to that night’s “Wednesday Night Live” free outdoor concert.
