In their final contest of the season before state finals, Durand saw many of the Flight V bands they'll be up against in Detroit. The band took 4th place at the West Shore Invitational on October 27th with a score of 85.875. There were eleven bands competing in Flight V that day. That's a good place for our rebuilding Railroaders to be, heading into this weekend.
On Friday night, the band took the field at Roundhouse Stadium to offer community members a free, field-view look at the show. Great photo ops, at your own risk. The band moves.
There's an excitement for the Durand Marching Railroaders that hasn't been felt in a handful of years. And there's nothing like marching into a performance at a place like Ford Field.
Space on a spectator bus is available. The cost to ride is $8.
The band will leave for Ford Field at 11:30am, after one final rehearsal on Saturday morning, from 7 to 10am. The Durand Marching Railroaders are scheduled to perform at 3:30pm. Flight V awards will begin at 4:30pm. The band is expected to ride back into town between 7:30 and 8pm.
