The electrical fire began just after 9am in a kiln room, according to WJRT-TV. Students were taken to the high school gymnasium as firefighters from Swartz Creek Area FD responded. The flames were extinguished but smoke prohibited the students from continuing their day, the report says. Classes at the district's other schools were not impacted. It is unclear if students will be able to return to the middle school on Friday.
