The tradition of Railroad Person of the Year began in 1977 with Glenn Wille receiving the first award.  Each year since, a man or woman who has been in railroad employment has been honored.    Last year’s honoree was Richard Craven,  a retired locomotive engineer from Grand Trunk/CN Railroad.
