An Assistant Manager of Owosso's Ponderosa Restaurant is confirming the restaurant has permanently closed, citing a failure to renew the franchise agreement. "Our parent company didn't want to sell Ponderosa or merge with our new owners. So in doing so, terminated the building's lease, thus ending all five of their remaining businesses," Drew Hine said. "We were just informed by someone at HR, who generously came out on her personal time to explain the details and actions to take."

Hine said the working employees found out at 10pm. Other employees said they were shocked when the news broke late Friday night.

A sign in the restaurant's window reads "To our valued customers: We are sad to report that we have permanently closed this location. Thank you for your Patronage through the years."

Hine said "If anyone is hiring, please take in my other 30 co-workers. They all work extremely hard and didn't deserve what happened to them."

We're told that one Ponderosa remains in Michigan, in Mt. Pleasant.
