Two Local Boys Are Vying for Railroad Days Prince

The Durand Railroad Day Royalty Committee announces the 5th annual Prince Contest sponsored by Conrad’s Towing of Durand.
Vying for this year’s title of Durand Railroad Days Prince is David Casemore and Joseph Earegood. Each contestant has a sponsoring business where collection canisters have been placed for voting. Voting began February 2nd and ends February 16th. Each cent collected in the contestant’s canister will equal one vote. The money raised will fund Railroad Days Events. Contestants will receive a participation ribbon and a copy of their photograph courtesy of A&R Portraits of Durand. The winner will also receive a $50 gift card, crown and sash.
The contestant who collects the most votes will be announced at the 2016 Royalty Crowning Ceremony on Friday, March 11, 2016 in the Grand Ballroom of the Durand Union Station. The 2016 Railroad Days Prince will represent the 41st annual Railroad Days Festival held on May 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th 2016 the weekend after Mother’s Day. The Railroad Days Prince will appear in various parades and community functions throughout the year.
David Casemore is the son of Jennifer December and Joel Casemore of Bancroft. He is 7 years old and attends Bertha Neal Elementary where he is in the first grade. David has a younger brother Joey-4 and a younger sister Emma-2. David enjoys playing t-ball, soccer, gardening, going to church, playing with his pets, a dog named Saddie and a cat named Ginger, and loving people. His favorite subject in school is math. David is sponsored by The Lodge of Durand.
Joseph Earegood is the son of Carl and Tricia Earegood of Durand. He is 8 years old and attends Robert Kerr Elementary where he is in the second grade. Joseph enjoys playing baseball, spending time with his family and his pets which includes a dog, cat, hamsters, and turtles. He likes playing video games and helping the elderly neighbors shovel. Joseph is sponsored by Riverside Market of Durand.
