Railroad Days 2020 Princess Candidates Announced

Vying for this year’s title of Durand Railroad Days 2020 Princess is Abbegale Bartholomew, Sophia Proctor, Peyton Allred, Natalie Mogg, and Rylie Hutchinson.  The Durand Railroad Days Princess is sponsored by The Durand Lioness Club and A&R Portraits.

Each contestant has a sponsoring business where collection canisters will be placed for voting. Voting begins February 21st and ends March 6th. Each cent collected in the contestant’s canister will equal one vote. The money raised will go back into the community.

Contestants will receive a participation ribbon. The winner will also receive a $100 scholarship check, crown and sash.
The contestant who collects the most votes will be announced at the 2020 Royalty Crowing Ceremony on Friday, March 13, 2020 in the Grand Ballroom of the Durand Union Station.

Abbegale Bartholomew

Abbegale Bartholomew is the daughter of Christina Coleman and Chris Bartholomew of Durand. She is 10 years old and in the 5th grade at Robert Kerr Elementary. Abbegale has two brothers, Drew & Ryan, and two sisters, Maryann & Sophia. Abbegale likes to spend her time listening to music, practicing her dancing and watching television. She is also involved dance where she does hip hop and POMS. Iron Horse Pub sponsors Abbegale.

Natalie Mogg

Natalie Mogg is the daughter of Jolin Mogg of Durand and Erick Mogg of Owosso. She is in 9 years old and in the 4th grade at Robert Kerr Elementary. Natalie has three brothers, Isaac, Elijah, and Christopher. She loves to play with her Barbie house and her LOL dolls, swimming, and doing arts and crafts. Natalie is involved in girl scouts and jazz/gymnastics. Coffield Oil sponsors Natalie.

Peyton Allred

Peyton Allred is the daughter of Ryan and Kristin Allred of Durand. She is 7 years old and is in First grade at Bertha Neal Elementary. Peyton has two siblings, Liam and Ivory and a cat named Oliver. She enjoys camping, bonfires and making s’mores. Peyton is very active in dance where she does jazz and gymnastic dance. The VFW #2272 sponsors Peyton

Rylie Hutchinson

Rylie Hutchinson is the daughter of Jonathon and Ashley Hutchinson of Bancroft. She is 7 years old and is in the 2nd grade at Robert Kerr Elementary. Rylie has two brothers Kyle and Owen. Rylie is very active in dance where she does jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, gymnastics, and Durand Poms. When she is not dancing she enjoys playing memory games and riding her hoover board. Stomping Grounds Café sponsors Rylie.

Sophia Proctor

Sophia Proctor is the daughter of Michael and Danielle Proctor of Durand. Sophia is 8 years old and is in the 3rd grade at Robert Kerr Elementary. She has a younger sister, Alice who is 5 years old. Sophia loves to read and do arts and crafts. She enjoys cooking and baking. Her favorite thing to bake is lemon cake. Sophia also enjoys playing baseball and cheer. When she grows up Sophia would like to be a dentist. Rajiva Tirtha DDS & Associates sponsors Sophia.

The 2020 Railroad Days Princess will represent the 45th annual Railroad Days Festival held on May 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th 2020 the weekend after Mother’s Day. The Railroad Days Princess will appear in various parades and community functions throughout the year.

In the photo, a man is sitting in a similar chair. While the thread attempts to figure out who is pictured and where in Owosso the photo was taken, one user suggests that it may have been in the old post office.
