The Greater Durand Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that the 2020 End of Summer Cruisin' car show has been cancelled.

"It is with the deepest regret that the End of Summer Cruisin’ has been canceled. The Cruisin has been a Durand Labor Day tradition for 31 years. The End of Summer Cruisin’ Committee, with support from The Greater Durand Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Please contact 989.288.3715 with questions. Thank you for 31 years of support and we look forward to the 2021 End of Summer Cruisin’."

The announcement comes just weeks after another big summer event was shut down by organizers due to ongoing Coronavirus concerns.

Organizers had already revealed some of the summer concert series talent.  Wednesday Night Live was scheduled to begin on July 8th.  Organizers announced the cancellation on April 17th.

Normally we keep a calendar of upcoming events for your reference, but we now realize it's probably time to start making a list of all of the events that won't be happening.  Here are a few more just in case you've missed any announcements:

There are at least a couple annual events that are, as of now, still on.  The City of Durand said earlier this week that the VFW Reed-Raymond Post is planning to host their annual Memorial Day service at 11am on Monday, May 25th at Durand Veterans Memorial Park. The public is welcome to attend but social distancing rules must be adhered to.

Also, Wednesday May 20th marked the first Durand Farmers Market of the season.  This year's market features new hours; now open from 2 to 7pm each Wednesday.  The market will feature "drive through" service until further notice.
