CHILI COOK OFF BENEFIT PLANNED FOR FAMILY THAT LOST BABY UNEXPECTEDLY
Aiden Reeks-Wolfe Passed Away November 1st at 4 Months Old
A chili cook off fundraiser is planned for Sunday December 3rd at Durand Eagles Club. Aiden Reeks-Wolfe was born prematurely on June 14th to parents Nicole Reeks, a Durand graduate, and Charlie Wolfe, a Byron graduate. After four months at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, Aiden passed away unexpectedly on November 1st. The chili cook off will be held from 5:30 to 8:30pm and will benefit Aiden's family.
Come out to Durand Eagles Club and sample all the varieties of chili and vote for your favorite. Win the "Golden Plunger" with your best chili recipe. Donate a crock of your favorite and see how it measures up to the competition!
Dinner is $5. Kids 3 and under are free. A raffle will be held as well, with tickets at $1 each or 15 for $10.

THANKSGIVING FIRE DESTROYS BANCROFT BARN
No Livestock or People Injured In Fire That Destroyed Barn, Equipment

A fire on Thanksgiving Day destroyed a barn and farm equipment. Family has confirmed that the fire was at Durling Farms on Cole Road in Bancroft. We're told that there was no livestock lost and no injuries to people in the fire that started at around 5pm. Witnesses reported seeing the smoke from as far as the I-69/I-75 interchange in Flint Township and as far north as M-13 in Lennon.
