Kathy Olund was singularly responsible for bringing the Durand Area Chamber of Commerce back to life in 2016 after it closed in late 2014. Olund reopened the doors, serving as Executive Director, and began assembling the new Board of Directors late in 2015, working with then-City Manager Amy Roddy.
On January 21st 2016, the new board met for the first time in the Chamber conference room.
The Chamber hosts the annual End of Summer Cruisin' car show, a golf outing and other fundraising events that support local businesses and organizations.
Olund recently announced her retirement at the end of this year, so the Chamber is tasked with finding a new Executive Director. The job description says candidates should possess "a genuine appreciation of people; understanding of the challenges faced by small businesses; basic office, computer and organizational skills; and a firm belief in the promising future of Durand and the surrounding community"
The Executive Director is the Chamber's only employee. It is a part time position. Interested applicants can email their resume to firstname.lastname@example.org.
