Railroad Days Royalty Revealed at Friday Night Durand Union Station Event

The 2018 Railroad Days Royalty Crowning Ceremony was held Friday evening, March 23rd, in the Grand Ballroom of Durand Union Station.  At the event, Haley Zdunic was crowned Railroad Days Queen.  Madison Pellman was named Attendant, Na'kia Tate was crowned Princess and Ricky Taljonic was named 2018 Railroad Days Prince.

Big Rock Amusements returns for the 43rd Annual Railroad Days festival.  Festival favorites like the Beautiful Baby Contest and BBQ contest, sawdust pile, peddle pull, art walk and chainsaw carver are all planned parts of this year's festival as well.

It was a Flint staple, founded in 1911, and served residents of Flint, Owosso and other communities throughout the state.  The 37 locations of the Hamady Bros. Supermarket chain was the destination for grocery-getting for 80 years, until stores began to close after an embezzlement and bankruptcy scandal, and an eventual sale to the McColgan family, who operated remaining stores before selling to Al Kessel, former Hamady Vice President, in 1991.
