Friends and fans of Jim's Pizza, home of Jim's Super XL and THE. BEST. turkey subs ever [Editor's Note], have established a GoFundMe page to help owner Greg Martin get the doors to the new location opened.

The former Jim's Pizza location on Main Street was forced to close after a water line break in the upstairs apartment caused significant damage to the restaurant's kitchen below.  Martin was already in the process of readying the new Saginaw Street location of Jim's Pizza to open, but ever since the Main Street location closed in early January, there's been no revenue stream to support the build.

Jim Chamberlain and Bob Sager told Durand Now that they started the GoFundMe to support Martin, who has given so much to the community.  Among his contributions, Martin's involvement was essential in organizing a summer 2017 concert to benefit the Veterans Memorial Park.  That event drew nearly 1,000 people and raised more than $56,000 for the cause.

The GoFundMe goal is $5,000.  So far, just over $1,000 has been collected.
