MSP SEEKING HELP ON DURAND ARMED ROBBERY
Local Gas Station Robbed By Man With Weapon

Michigan State Police

The Valero Gas Station on Lansing Road in Durand was robbed at knife point on December 30, 2017, at approximately 3:28am.  The suspect was wearing a mask and fled the scene. 

The lone suspect entered the gas station demanding money.  After robbing the gas station the suspect fled the scene on foot.  MSP K9 tracked the suspect but he was not located. 

The suspect is described as 6’00” or taller with a medium build.  The suspect is a white male and described as possibly 30 years old.

Jason, Sherry Rathburn to Turn Local Coffee Shop Over to Hartzell Family

"It's been a dream of mine to open a bakery/coffee [shop]," Nikole Hartzell told Durand Now on Saturday.

Nikole and husband, Ernie, will take over Stomping Grounds Coffee Shop in downtown Durand on January 1st 2018.

Their first day of business will be January 2nd.
