James Eric Davis, Jr. is being sought in connection with a double homicide in a Central Michigan University dorm room on Friday morning.  The victims were his parents, James Eric Davis, Sr., and Diva Davis, who were reportedly there to pick Davis, Jr. up for spring break.

The murders put the campus, area businesses and neighboring schools in lockdown as authorities searched for the suspect, who was seen by witnesses and on CCTV fleeing the dorm, headed north, along railroad tracks.

Students were allowed to begin leaving campus in the mid-afternoon hours of Friday.

Initial calls to 911 were received at around 8:30am regarding shots fired inside Campbell Hall.  At 7:40pm, police are still trying to find James Eric Davis, Jr., who is believed to be in the city of Mt. Pleasant and considered to be armed and dangerous.  Davis, Jr. is a black male, 19 years old, approximately 135 pounds and stands 5 foot 10 inches.

The suspect's father served as a police officer in Illinois.

CMU Police confirmed in a press conference just before noon on Friday that the suspect, James Eric Davis, Jr., was transported to McLaren on Thursday evening by police for what they believed to be a drug overdose or reaction to some sort of drug.

No other people were injured, authorities have said.
