LOCAL NEWS FIRST. BIG NEWS ALWAYS.
Tipsters made us aware of a school bus vs. car crash on Tuesday afternoon. Durand Superintendent Craig McCrumb told Durand Now that it was a Shiawassee RESD bus, not a Durand bus, and that there were no kids on board.
Sheriff BeGole was able to confirm that the bus was traveling eastbound on Lansing Road when a car also traveling eastbound on Newburg Road pulled in front of the bus. The crash caused minor damage to both vehicles and there were no injuries. He also affirmed there were no students on the bus.
We've reached out to Shiawassee RESD for additional information.
The Shiawassee County Health Department (SCHD) has been informed of Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSO) occurring at the waste water treatment plants located in the City of Owosso and the City of Durand.
On Tuesday, February 20, 2018, the City of Owosso and the City of Durand began experiencing sanitary sewer overflows at their waste water treatment plants. The discharges are ongoing and the total amount of partially treated sewage that has been released is unknown.
