A fire on Thanksgiving Day destroyed a barn and farm equipment. Family has confirmed that the fire was at Durling Farms on Cole Road in Bancroft. We're told that there was no livestock lost and no injuries to people in the fire that started at around 5pm. Witnesses reported seeing the smoke from as far as the I-69/I-75 interchange in Flint Township and as far north as M-13 in Lennon.
"[W]hen we started the dream of Stomping Grounds, we wanted to build something bigger than ourselves for the community. Due to personal reasons, at the end of the year, we have to test our success sooner than expected. It's our hope that someone will see our vision and see what this gathering place means to the community and will approach us to carry the torch forward."
The obvious question: What happens if no one approaches?
We've reached out to Stomping Grounds owner, Jason Rathburn, for more.
